Part-Time Cook

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to guide, direct, and coordinate
  • Effective communication skills—both verbally and in writing
  • Understanding of accounting concepts, techniques, and principles
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a high degree of accuracy
  • Computer literate – working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheets, and email
  • Ability to work well as a team member and independently
  • Affinity with the school’s mission and goals

Core Functions and Responsibilities

  • Financial planning and management
  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cashflow
  • Human resource management
  • Donor development and external stakeholder engagement
  • Generate reports (for the board and outside agencies)
  • Facility management
  • Supervise office and support staff

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • As an organization working with students, we require a clear criminal record and no vulnerable sector offences
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • 1-year of cooking experience (Preferred)
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork

Core Functions and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements when needed
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
  • Other duties as required
