As we begin to imagine another school year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic,
we come back to the phrase, “we’re all in this together”.
This phrase has felt over- and misused at times. We’re all in the same storm, but our boats may be different.
At MCI, we put a high value on community and the importance of our Faith. In seasons like this, these are the pillars that sustain us. This season is full of anticipation, hope, and excitement to finally be together again. This year, we have added feelings of fear, anxiety, and grief, knowing that life will continue to look a lot different. To our students, know you are not alone. Whatever you’re feeling about the beginning of the school year is just what you need to be feeling today.
We know that the beginning of the school year is going to look different, at times this is going to be really hard and frustrating. You are not alone. We feel those things too. Our journeys to get here may be vastly different, but when we step foot back on the MCI campus, we’re in this together. We’re living in the present, and the present looks different than the past… but we want to work together to create meaningful memories, have fun, build life-long friendships, and gain a better understanding of who God is, especially in this season of uncertainty.
